A new South African drug that is effective in treating erectile dysfunction has launched an online drugstore in South Africa.
The launch of a generic version of Viagra, known generically as sildenafil, is the first in a new class of medicines called “erectile dysfunction drugs”.
“Sildenafil is the generic version of Viagra and is a very effective treatment for erectile dysfunction,” the company said in a statement.
“We have now launched our own online pharmacy for this purpose, which will provide a wide range of medicines to our customers and our suppliers.”
Sildenafil is the generic version of the drug called sildenafil citrate which is used to treat erectile dysfunction in men.
The new version of sildenafil is made by Pfizer, the UK’s drug giant, and is available in over 100 countries.
The website was set to launch on Friday after the launch of a generic version of Viagra, the brand-name drug that was previously only available in South Africa.
The drug, which is also called Viagra, is currently only available in the UK.
In May last year the South African Government recommended that the government consider making erectile dysfunction treatment drugs a health standard in South Africa.
In March the South African Medicines Control Council (SARB) made a recommendation to the Minister of Health that the public should be advised that erectile dysfunction is a serious health problem.
SARB Chief Medical Officer Dr Sarah Bannow said: “The new medicine for erectile dysfunction is effective and will not only help our patients improve their sexual health, but also their quality of life. We have launched the launch of our own online pharmacy, which will offer a wide range of medicines to our customers and our suppliers, including Viagra.
“Our customers and our suppliers are here to support us in this important health journey and we hope that this launch of this new medicine will provide our customers with a safe and effective treatment for erectile dysfunction.
“Our customers have a strong medical history and we are confident that by providing our customers with this treatment, we will be able to help them get back to their sexual health and well being.”
